I want to both download music off the internet, and burn my own cds. I have musicbox and adaptec easy cd creator on my computer, so I think I have the right software, but I can't figure out what to do. Musicbox lists songs, but I don't see "Play" or "start" button to hear music. And I thought I was burning a CD, but when I went to play it, there was nothing there, even though it listed all the tracks. How do I do this? |

Hello rosannarosanna, I am not familiar with the musicbox software you have, but can perhaps suggest some other mainstream mp3 players that might be easier for you to use. A simple but effective mp3 player is winamp. You can download it for free here: http://download.com.com/3000-2139-10144128.html?tag=lst-0-1 To get an idea of what winamp looks like, (and what the different buttons do) take a look at this page: http://www.winamp.com/download/walkthrough/index.jhtml?filenumber=10&language=english&layout=normal&prevlayout=normal All you have to do to play a file is drag it to the player and click the play button. As for burning CD's with adaptec easy cd creator, there are instructions on the following page for burning your mp3's using easy cd creator version 3, 4, and 5: http://www.cpc.unc.edu/faqs/index.php?faqid=26 Note: Some online services selling mp3's do not allow their versions to be burned to CD because of licensing issues, and in that case it is unlikely that you will be able to burn them unless you upgrade your account with the mp3 provider. If you are able to play the files with mp3, there is a good chance you should be able to burn them to a CD without a problem. If you are not able to play your files using winamp, then you can download Windows Media player which has licensing management tools and should be able to play your files: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/download/default.asp Hopefully this is the answer you were looking for. If you have any questions or need further clarification, please let me know and I will do my best to further assist you. tisme-ga Search Strategy: instructions burning cd 4 adaptec ://www.google.ca/search?q=instructions+burning+cd+4+adaptec&hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&start=20&sa=N some personal experience and previously known website (Microsoft, Winamp, Download.com) | |

If you want to burn mp3's to use them in any standard cd player(car, home, jam box..etc) you will have to tell ez-cd creator that you want to burn(make) a music cd, which will convert your mp3 to a cda. However, if the equipment you plan to listen to these cd's with is mp3 compatible(some car stereos and some home dvd players will play mp3's from cd) you can tell ez-cd creator that you want to burn a data cd and they will remain in the mp3 format. If your mp3's are kept as such and burned to cd you will be able to fit ~170 songs on a 700meg blank cd. |

I have found Music Match Juke Box to be the most effective mp3 organizer and player, particularly for large numbers of files (10,000+). |
