Infonaut--
Viskase Corp. (symbol: VCIC), of Willowbrook, IL is now a public
company, so financial documents pertaining to it are available at the
U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's EDGAR site:

Failure to meet bond obligations resulted in creditors setting up a
committee to work out a reorganization of the company more than a year
ago. In particular, you may want to see the following recent filings:
Nov. 15, 2002 8-K and all of its links, including the press release:

The original reorganization plan, including a sales agreement with
Bemis Co., referenced in this "Amendment 1 to Plan of Acquisition"
(Aug. 31, 2000):

and the original "Purchase Agreement" (July 7, 2000):

Because Viskase Company is legally a Pennsylvania company, but
headquarters are in suburban Chicago, it would be expected that the
pre-packaged bankruptcy could be submitted through one of the
Pennsylvania bankruptcy courts or the court in the Northern District
of Illinois. As of this morning, there was no record showing of the
Viskase filing, though it may not be in the files yet. (There's also
the possibility that the company or creditor committee has filed it
elsewhere. The company press release is vague on the location of the
bankruptcy filing.) You can try tracking it in the future directly
with the bankruptcy courts at:
Northern District of IL: http://www.ilnb.uscourts.gov/
Eastern District of PA: http://www.paeb.uscourts.gov/
Middle District of PA: http://www.pamb.uscourts.gov/
Western District of PA: http://www.pawb.uscourts.gov/
The bankruptcy courts have set up an on-line system called PACER that
allows you to request documents at $0.07 per page.
