an R enclosed in an M with a crown above the M on figurines? |

Perhaps you could describe the figurines, or even better take a
digital picture of the figurine and post the URL here. I have found
manufacturers which use the initials RM or MR namely Michelle Robison
Porcelain Dolls but cannot see their backstamp from the pictures. I
called Michelle Robison personally, and her signature stamp is not the
RM with a crown, but other manufacturers might not be so easy to
reach. Just in case, could you also take a look at:
http://www.angelfire.com/oh3/michellerobison/artist.html
and confirm that these are not the dolls?

Would you accept an offline method (a reference book for purchase) as
a sufficient answer?

Hi titchcraig,
I've made a quick visual search for your backstamp, but it's going to
be extremely difficult to find without some further information. As
Skermit suggests, a picture of the figurine would be a good start.
Also, a picture, or sketch of the backstamp with any other wording or
letters and numbers that accompany it would help.
Finally, we could also use an indication of the age of the figurine
and where you acquired it (country, region, etc.) Unless one of our
researchers is already familiar with your backstamp, a world-wide
search for it is just too vast.
So, let us know what other information you have. We'd like to help,
but we really do need more to go on.
Thanks,
K~

Question I/D 114819
You asked me previously re the above question to put pictures of the
items in the enquiry on a web site. I have done this & the are on:-
http://geocities.com/penten99uk on Guest Page 2
This shows pictures of the figurines & the backstamp
The figures are a matching pair in that the old man is repairing the
lady's shoe
and they are very much in the style of Capodimonte.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Regards titchcraig-ga.

Is this a satisfactory answer?
It is a variation of the mark of a Bavarian company. See:
http://216.239.37.100/search?q=cache:pdktgcplfzUC:pages.akeslingerantiques.com/5055/InventoryPage/1296816/1.html+porcelain+R+M+crown+Bavaria&hl=en&ie=UTF-8
http://pages.akeslingerantiques.com/5055/PictPage/1159345.html
The name of the company and the probable date of manufacture can be
found by consulting:
