I am looking for a list of German consulting companies that also have
a branch/office in the USA.  The should also perform consulting
operations there.  Preferrable business field: Consulting to help
German companies to get established in the US market / to enter the US
market with their products.

auditing firms. You will find that all the 'big four' (KPMG, Deloitte,
PWC, Ernest & Young) have Germans working in a Germany specific
business unit here in the USA to support companies coming from Germany

Thanks for the info so far.  I was actually expecting more than the
"big four" companies since they are very well known.  I was looking
for more consulting companies who where formed in Germany and then got
a branch in the US.

another option besides the big four firms are members of the BDU
('Bundesverband Deutsche Unternehmensberater' - German Federal
Association of Consultants). They actually have a subsection for
international business consulting.

One of the German consultancies there is 'Xeops'
(http://www.xeops.com/index.html). They have a USA regional partner in
Atlanta (go to staff/regional partners), you can contact him at
USA@XEOPS.com, looks like he has a solid german/american background.

Another BDU member, DGM (http://www.dgm-online.de/) offers it's
partner network, http://www.morisoninternational.com/ for support with
international and US expansion plans.
