These are my observations, not real statistics. In a quick search, I
found nothing showing demographics or statistics for Uno or I would
have answered your question.
Uno does seem to be a card game that crosses all age groups. I first
played it in college in the late 70s and loved it as did all my
friends who played. It was a game that one could play while under the
influence of a few beers or other slighty mind-altering college
substances. lol
When I think of Uno, I see it as a family or "group of friends" game
and as a universal game because it is basically numbers and colors
with only a few words. It's easy for a young child to follow and,
while the game has some strategy, it seems anyone from age 5 to 105+
can easily play the game. It's easy to play in a car, on a plane or
at home. And it's been a strong seller for 30 years.
It's been a long while since I played Uno but I still have my deck
(from college!) and I would never get rid of it. It's just too much
fun. Your question makes me want to start up an Uno club with some
friends! Unfortunately, most of my current friends don't play cards
so I satisfy my playing at online game sites.
I am an avid gameswoman and I play just about every type of card game
from Poker to Euchre to Canasta to beginner's Bridge (I'm currently
learning Bridge online). I'm also addicted to Backgammon. Therefore,
my opinion is that of a frequent player of games.
For what it's worth. :) |
