I recently bought a R2-D2 Interactive Droid, an electronic toy based on the famous Star Wars robot (go to http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/stores/detail/-/toys/B000063KCP/qid=1038364725/sr=2-1/ref=sr_2_1/002-7914421-2469607 to see what I'm referring to). The box says there are "secret features" that the droid comes with, and I would like to know what these are. To be clear, the toy recognizes human speech, movement, and other interactions and performs actions based on that input. Here is a list of all the regular commands that you can say to it: http://www.r2droidfactory.com/pl/page.command/dn/default.cfm What I'm looking for are the "secret" commands that supposedly exist... the ones that not listed in the manual and that make the droid perform hidden actions. To help in your search, this is what I've discovered so far: 1) If you say "Follow me", the droid will follow you around. This is an unlisted command, and is exactly the kind of thing I'm looking for. 2) I once made it whistle to the tune of "Imperial March", a song from the Star Wars movies, but I'm not sure how I did it. From various websites, I've learned that there are at least 3 musical tunes that he knows, only one of which is a regular command (the Cantina tune, from ordering the droid to do its "Dance Program"). Please be aware that I'm not looking for abbreviated versions of the regular commands... for example, I know you can say "Artoo!" instead of "Hey Artoo!". I'm looking only for commands that result in entirely new actions, not the regular ones. Thanks! | |

Going ahead and answering this because I got a new one today and I think it is the most exhaustive list available: 1) When you ask 'Do you remember Darth Vadar?' he screams, then if you ask 'Do you remember Anakin?' he does the imperial march. The march is the secret one 2) When asked 'Do you remember Darth Vadar?' and 'Do you remember Han Solo?' and 'Do you remember Chewbacca?' in any order R2 will do the throne scene. 3) The Follow Me &/or Come Here feature are not mentioned in the instructions. 4) If R2's laser light is on & you tap him on the head 3 times R2 will tango. These are all the ones that I was able to find, and this includes begging hasbro representative for a complete list of them. (just got #4 a few minutes ago). Hope this is what you were looking for. I will let you know if I come up with anything new. tisme-ga |

Great job! That, coupled with robertskelton's list, is exactly what I was looking for. If you would be willing to let me know when/if new ones surface, that would be much appreciated as well. But in the meantime, thanks much! Off to play with Artoo :) |

This site has a few "easter eggs", but I'm sure there are more to be found: http://collectibles.echostation.com/r2d2/ I 2 want 1! |

<grin> @ leep And Robertskelton, thanks! Those three were very cool. You're right, too bad it doesn't vaccuum like those robotic cleaners. I wish it could... that and cut through nets, shoot out lightsabers, fix vehicles, and store secret messages :) |
