I am looking for an attorney, or list of attorneys who specialize in
Civil Rights violations. I am particularly interested in any that may
offer "Pro-Bono" services or that will take a civil lawsuit on a
contingency basis. I had my life turned upside down by false
accusations of a Sexual impropriety, it took me 18 months and almost
$50,000.00 to "prove" my innocence. (So much for the presumption of
innocence!) The end result after a 4 day trial, was 55 minutes of
jury deliberations ending in a "Not Guilty" verdict. The research I
have done and am doing still, indicates that the entire case should be
an example of what "not to do" by law enforcement, State Attorneys
office, counselors, Psychologists, ex-wives and many others including
the biased one-sided reporting in the media.
What I am looking for specifically is an Attorney or Attorneys
specializing in this area, that would examine the entire case and give
an honest opinion if they felt I could recover damages without costing
me the other arm and leg I
have left. Another possibility is a listing of any group or
organization that would lend assistance to a person who has been
greivously damaged by our Criminal Justice System. If any
clarification is needed, please ask!

Hi! Just to clarify...

1.) What state are you in?
2.) Are private practice civil rights attorneys who take on pro bono
cases be the ones you're looking for?

Just let me know. :)

Clarification:
1.) Florida
2.) That would be the ones. :-)
a.) Bonus for familiarity with, or better yet, specializing in
false allegations of sexual abuse.

In what city or county of Florida are you located? Presumably, a
lawyer in the Panhandle wouldn't be able to take a case in Miami, or
vice versa.

Lee County in Southwest Florida.

Thanks!

Do you have a relatively low income? Many lawyers will not provide
"pro bono" assistance to persons who are above a certain income. If
you feel comfortable specifying it, what is your current annual
income?

I would not be considered "low-income". My problem is that after
spending a medium sized fortune (it certainly was no small fortune!)
I do not have the money now, and need to act before any potential
statute of limitations expires. I was thinking "Pro-Bono" only to the
extent that some attorney or law firm may be, after hearing the
details, so outraged by the reckless disregard for justice, they ~may~
consider at least some Pro-Bono assistance. Of course, the ideal
situation would be one that would take the case on a contingency fee
basis.
Thank-you for the request for clarification, and I hope to hear
something!
