hello dear researchers!

one of the recent questions brought up by skermit
(https://answers.google.com/answers/main?cmd=threadview&id=115450)
brought back some great childhood memories of watching a subbed
version of "ooka tadasuke" on japanese tv in san francisco (i was also
a BIG fan of 'oshin', hehe).

i did searches based on the spelling above as well as 'ooka tadasuke
tv' but lost patience on trying to wade through pages of text that i
dont understand.

can anybody help find photos of the guy who played the judge,
preferably in costume (it was a period drama) and preferably smiling
handsomely (but he doesnt really have to be smiling ;)? please also,
if you can, provide basic details on the show, although they are not
necessary for me to accept as a final answer. (just the photos are
good enough.) 1. when did the show run? 2. how long did it run
(how many episodes)? 3. what is the name of the actor who played the
judge? 4. any other trivia?

the show was definitely produced before 1990, and it looked (to me)
like a (then) relatively new production, so i would have to guess
1980s.

thank you very much in advance for your help!

with the weird fan sites out there, maybe somebody has some shrine to
this show somewhere!

Dear Hahna-ga,

First, Ooka Tadasuke is the incomplete name of the main character.
His "full name with title" is Ooka Echizen No Kami Tadasuke.
The name of the TV program is hence Ooka Echizen and NOT Ooka Tadasuke.

0. Photo of the judge in costume :

1&2. When and how long did the show run?

Massive fan-site at :
http://www.interq.or.jp/orange/mitumi/etizengani/index.htm
[No photos here, though...and in Japanese]

According to the site, the show started in March of 1970
and has been through 15 seasons...the latest season being
1998-1999.

3. The total number of episodes over this long period of time
appears to be : 402 (!)

4. Surprisingly, the "judge" is played by the same actor : Tsuyoshi Kato
