Hello.

Jazz legend Billy Eckstine attended Peabody High School in Pittburgh,
Pennsylvania.
Source: Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, 2/16/98
http://www.post-gazette.com/blackhistorymonth/19980216kids.asp

The address of the school is:
PEABODY HIGH SCHOOL
515 North Highland Avenue
Pittsburgh, PA 15206

sources for address of the school:
Communities in Schools of Pennsylvania:
http://www.cispac.org/ppshs.html
Information Renaissance:
http://www.info-ren.org/conference/site-visits.html

Mr Eckstine was born in 1914, so his years of high school attendance
would have been 1928-1932.

search terms: billy eckstine, pittsburgh, "high school", "peabody
high"

I hope this helps.

I apologize for not "sourcing" the exact dates of Mr Eckstine's high
school attendance. However, I would sincerely doubt that it would be
possible for anyone to verify those dates without obtaining a copy of
his high school transcript or permanent record. As indicated above,
contact information for the school is available at:
http://www.info-ren.org/conference/site-visits.html

I would suggest that you get in touch with Peabody High for more
information about Mr Eckstine's tenure there. Good luck.

A very good and very quick answer. Four stars and not five because the
years of high school attendance, albeit quite plausible, are
speculative and not sourced. Thank you juggler ga.
