Hello mezpro2020,

You will be able to transfer most of your data from your Palm to your
Pocket PC, but it might not work 100%.

I researched some methods of doing this and found the best methods to
be summed up on this page from Microsoft:
http://www.microsoft.com/mobile/pocketpc/club/stepbystep/palm2pocketpc.asp

I have briefly outlined the two most popular methods of transfering
your data:

SOLUTION #1: PocketMirror 3.1.2 Professional or PocketMirror 3.1.2
Standard are the programs that will make the transition easiest for
you , and they currently cost $49.95 and $39.95 respectively.

Professional: http://www.chapura.com/pm_professional.php
Standard: http://www.chapura.com/pm_standard.php

Basically the Professional version has some more advances features
like letting you keep your file structures, so you will have to decide
which ones will be best for you. Note however that neither version
will synchronize your email messages.

SOLUTION #2: Go to the Microsoft article again:
http://www.microsoft.com/mobile/pocketpc/club/stepbystep/palm2pocketpc.asp

Scroll down to where it says: "Web-Based Options."

All of these instructions are valid, but the problem is the Excite no
longer offers the Address Book that is needed to transfer your data
from your Palm to the Internet, and then into your Pocket PC. You can
still use these instructions however with the address book from
http://www.bluemountain.com (costs $13.95 a year but first month is
free).

SOLUTION #3 - If the first two solutions do not work for you, then you
might want to try this product:
http://www.extendedsystems.com/ESI/Products/Mobile+Data+Management+Products/PC-Based+Synchronization/default.htm

I would personally choose Solution #1 over #2 based on my research
(especially with Excite no longer offering the Address Book), but the
decision is entirely up to you. If you need clarification on this
answer please feel free to let me know and I will do my best to
further assist you.

Sorry, just a quick update:

The trial period for BlueMountain.com is 10 days and not a full month
as I had indicated in my original answer. If you decide to cancel your
membership within 10 days of signing up, your credit card will not be
charged.

This was a very good and long answer with info that I could not find.

Do you currently sync from your Clie to Outlook? If so, you are
already using pocket mirror. I would just do one final sync to your
Clie, then load up your new PocketPC on your desktop/notebook. Sync,
and all of the information from Outlook will be in your new PocketPC.
Of course, this information started out in your Clie.

If you don't already sync to Outlook with your Clie, this still might
be the easiest solution, using Pocket Mirror this way.

Good luck!
