My web page http://tdztrader.com was listed at the Google search for
months and then disappeared. I was wondering what might of happened
that caused my page to be dropped from Google search? If there is some
problem with the construction of the page as far as meta tags,
keywords or content that would cause my listing to be terminated I
would like to know what I can do to be re-listed.
I might have done something while trying to optimize my search results
or over submitted accidentally by utilizing some of the, submit for
free, type of web services. Any information would be helpful.
Thanks
Tom Douglas.

Do you use a program like Web Position Gold to regularly check your Google ranking?

Dear Mr. Douglas,

First of all, and that is very important - Google Answers is not
linked with the Google Index, and I am not a Google employee. I am,
though, sort of an expert on search engine submission, and in
particular in Google submission.

There could be several reasons, why a site that has been previously
indexed, ceased to appear.

The first is mistakes in Google's robot, which is something that
apparently happens every once in a while. In other words, it could be
that the robot skip you while indexing the last time, but you'll
appear in the next indexing. For example, your server might have been
"down" at the time of the crawling, and
therefore the site was not updated.

There are also some reasons for Google to remove manually your site
from their indexed. Google discourages (or maybe I should say - bans)
cloaking and link exchanges, and other "artificial" methods that would
make it look as if you are linked to many sites, that are actually not
linked to you. Since you've mentioned you've used some of the
placement programs, it could be that one of them is using these banned
methods.

Google have added to their manuel for Webmasters this page, that warns
you of the crooks out there: ://www.google.com/webmasters/seo.html
(some of them are "real" crooks, ones that take your money, while
others might cause harm to you, although being free, by inserting
elements that might ban you from Google index): "Be careful if a
company is secretive or won't clearly explain what they intend to do.
Ask for explanations if something is unclear. If an SEO creates
deceptive or misleading content on your behalf, such as doorway pages
or "throwaway" domains, your site could be removed entirely from
Google's index. Ultimately, you are responsible for the actions of any
companies you hire, so it's best to be sure you know exactly how they
intend to "help" you." (Source: Google Information for Webmasters,
Search Engine Optimizers, ://www.google.com/webmasters/seo.html ).

In any case, whenever you feel that the removal was "unfair", you can
address your grievances to Google, at and mailto:help@google.com. They
do not "promise" to tell you why you have been removed, or to
reinstate you, but explaining what happen might just help.

I hope that answered your question. Please contact me for
