Request for Question Clarification by legolas-ga on 29 Nov 2002 19:56 PST
This is a "REQUEST FOR CLARIFICATION". Only researchers can post in
this area and ask for Question Clarification. If the question is
UNANSWERED, you may RESPOND to the Request for Clarification. Once the
question is ANSWERED you can NOT respond to the Request for
Clarifications: you can only ask for CLARIFICATION of the ANSWER.

This is not an "ANSWER" and you will not be charged other than the
$0.50 listing fee until there is an ANSWER in the space below marked
"ANSWER"

Please see "What to do after you ask aquestion on Google Answers" - an
EXCELLENT tutorial with pictures and directions at:
http://www.christopherwu.net/google_answers/answer_guide.html

Once you are satisfied that you understand what is happening and what
the commands do, RESPOND to this clarification request. I will then
post an ANSWER so that you can see the different options that appear
and/or disappear at different times during the Question and Answer
process on Google Answers.

One other thing that may be causing the problem.. When you Log In to
Google Answers, please ensure that you check the box below the LOGIN
button that says, "Remember me". That should help a LOT!

I wanted to elaborate a bit on the LOGIN feature.

When you get an e-mail telling you that clarification is needed (or
other such Google Answers e-mails), and you click the link, the link
does not "log you in".

To make this site easier for yourself, when you click the LOG IN
button on the front page of Google Answers, and proceed to enter your
e-mail address and password, BEFORE clicking the 'Log in' button just
below your password, click in the box next to the "Remember me" label.
You'll want an 'X' or a check-mark in that small box. NOW, when you
click the 'log in' button, you will STAY logged in.. Clicking on the
e-mail link will work as you expected it to work too!

Hi,

When you return to the Google Answers site to respond to a
Clarification request, you'll need to log in, using your e-mail
address and password, in order to have access to the Respond to
Clarification button. You can tick the checkbox below the e-mail and
password text boxes, for automatic login for up to two weeks. Once
you've allowed that automatic login, simply click the link given in
your notification e-mail. You'll be taken directly to your question,
and be able to see and use the buttons that enable you to respond.

You'll find the login webpage at:

https://answers.google.com/answers/main?cmd=login

After logging in, you may use the Search function to find your
question (search on your own username :) ), or use the method
described above to go directly from e-mail to your question.

Hope this helps,

captdave,

You've asked this question before: and I've answered it well. You've
really got to read through the tutorial I told you about. It has
pictures and everything to help you out. If you don't read the links
we provide, it's quite impossible for us to help you.

"What to do after you ask aquestion on Google Answers" at:
http://www.christopherwu.net/google_answers/answer_guide.html

It's a clear tutorial on how to use this site. If that still doesn't
help, ask for CLARIFICATION of the question first BEFORE you rate the
answer. Most researchers will respond to clarification requests
happily before the question is closed and rated.

It also helps to read Google's "Google Answers FAQ" (FAQ stands for
"Frequently Asked Questions") which can be found at:
https://answers.google.com/answers/faq.html

For your information, this is a COMMENT--not an "answer". You are only
charged for a reply posted in the "Answer" section of this page. Only
one answer can EVER be entered. You may get more than one comment, or
more than one clarification request, but, you only pay ONCE and ONLY
if there is an answer in the answer section.

Please, read the two pages I've given to you.
