Hello teeeheart,
Thank you for your question.
Having used chartered Lear jets in the 1980's, i was curious to see
how pricing had changed with time. I searched - air charter rates
Colorado - and found the following information:
http://www.maximumaircharter.com/
I entered Colorado Springs to Las Vegas on 12/4/02 at 10:00AM for 8
passenegrs, one way.
Their costs ranged from a low of $7,032.67 to a high of $16,775.59
depending on aircraft chosen. This is not a typo and far more than I
remember from the late 80's at $2.90 a nautical mile for a Lear Jet
from Hayward, California to anywhere we chose to travel.

Note: this link may not work without creating a free account at this
site, as I did to get their quotation.
I then tried Charters by Air Denver at
http://www.airden.com/screen_1024/1024_front_page.asp
"Charter any size aircraft from a single engine to a large airliner or
anything in between. One call to us places you in contact with more
than 3,900 charter and airline companies in North America. With over
18,000 aircraft to choose from we can find you the best possible
aircraft available with the lowest cost, and we will find it for you
in the least amount of time.

Their rates from Colorado SPrings to Las Vegas (mcCarren were much
more reasonable:
Piper Navajo Chieftain 9 passenger $2,469 - $4,119
Pressurized C-421 7 passenger $ 2,433 - 3,890
Beech Super King Aire 200 9 passenger $3,420 - $7,407
Citation II 324 Business Jet 8 passenger $3,649 - $6,576
They note:
*Pricing is an estimate and does not include standby time, overnight
charges, landing fees, or other required charges.
Prices include the 7.5% Federal Excise Tax, where applicable.
Segmant fees of $3 per person are additional, where applicable.
Aircraft originating in the northeast US typically will be in the
higher price range.
Additional costs may apply if an aircraft has to be re-positioned for
a flight.
Large aircraft ususally require two trips to accomodate a return
flight.
Lower prices may be available on one way flights.
Prices are subject to aircraft availability.
You can easily create a free account here and check other possibilties
and rates.
You also might check you local yellow pages for Aircraft - Charter and
Rental as local companies may not be listed on the web and may have
significantly lower charges.
I hope this information has been helpful in deciding on your charter
needs and providing a range of rates to consider.
Regards,
