the reign of Louis Philippe who was his patron and his parents Ms.
Julien Raphael Renouard de Bessiere(s), a Swiss and Marguerite
Francois Bouvier de la Motte, a daughter of the 2nd Marquis de Cepoy.
She married (1)Georges Louis Marie Le Clerc, comte de Buffon  January
5, 1784  and (2)Ms. Renouard de Bessiere(s)in 1799. She was famous for
a scandal-shortly after her marriage to the son of the famous
scientist Buffon, she became the mistress of le duc d'Orleans
(philippe Egalite) and remained faithful to him until his execution
during the terror. She was imprisoned with the poet Andre Chenier but
narrowly missed execution.
