Hello cakecutter-ga, What a fun product line! I wasnt familiar with Debbie Meyer (http://www.productivity.net/HousewaresAmerica/PRHousewaresDirectory.htm ) and Im very impressed with her creativity and ability to market her products. It sounds like youre part of a wonderful organization and your enthusiasm will be the key element in recruiting the sales staff you need. Ive collected some links that should help with finding people who are already familiar with the home party sales concept as well as some industry sites that should be good for additional resources. As for finding people right now, here are some ideas to get your started. You are looking for people who like kitchen gadgets. I dont think they necessarily like to cook. Rather, they want easy solutions. The kake-kutr product line carries items that are likely to be impulse purchases that youd buy either for yourself or as a gift. If you see it, you want it. So where are you likely to find people who would be impressed with a unique way to cut and store a cake? Heres my list: Office parties, pot lucks, childrens birthday parties, and anywhere else people have to cut a cake. Volunteer to do the honors using your kake-kutr and approach everyone who is impressed at how wonderful it is. Kitchen and housewares stores and specialty shops ( large department store housewares departments, Williams and Sonoma, Bed, Bath & Beyond, etc.) Watch women as they shop and approach them if they seem to be interested in various gadgets. They or their friends might be candidates. Bakeries and coffee houses Talk to the staff and see if they might be interested or know someone. Womens socials clubs and organizations Ask people what clubs they belong to and offer to bring a cake. Demonstrate your kake-kutr and see whos interested. Parents organizations, schools and kids sports activities. Talk to the parents and try to find stay-at-home moms who are looking for a way to work from home. Talk about it with everyone you meet. Ask if they know someone who might be interested. Good luck with your recruiting. I wish you great success in building your business. czh ============================ WORK FROM HOME OPPORTUNITIES ============================ http://www.mommysatwork.homestead.com/Index.html Mommies At Work -- Helping Mommies Work At Home http://www.mommysatwork.homestead.com/directsales.html Directory of Direct Sales and Home Party Plan Companies http://www.momsnetwork.com/mnemainpage.shtml Moms Network http://www.mommyportal.com/athome.htm Mommy Portal http://www.mlmwoman.com/home.htm MLM Woman is dedicated solely to women in network marketing. http://www.partyplanportal.com/ Party Plan Portal Interactive community dedicated to Home Party Plan Professionals ======================================== ARTICLES ABOUT HOME PARTY SALES INDUSTRY ======================================== http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2002/10/22/earlyshow/contributors/debbyeturner/main526518.shtml Twelve million Americans participate in home parties each year. Hi, cakecutter! You need some good job incentives, especially at this festive time of the year. I sold Tupperware quite successfully back in the 70s -- was a manager with a good unit (probably could have have been a distributor, had I a mind to), was given a company vehicle, etc. You need to provide marketing backup -- a FREE demo kit, proven sales strategies, set-in-stone sales policies, reasonably priced sales tools such as catalogs, order sheets, party favours, easy-to-use invoices, and regularly scheduled training meetings and company up-dates. The main thing is to have standards and RULES -- rules by which everyone needs to abide and which your personnel can rely upon and trust. I would have NEVER responded to an advertisement to become a dealer. I DID respond to a dealer who was a demonstrator at my Tupperware party. I firmly believe that you need a good initial corps of sales people who can book parties and recruit their hosts as dealers. I could give you examples of how Tupperware did it my day, but the question is answered. Another firm belief I hold is that the Tupperware company knew/knows exactly how to make the 'home' party successful, from recruiting dealers to raking in the big bucks. You could do no better than to emulate them. I wish you well, revbrenda1st |

I will wholeheartedly agree with the comment by revbrenda1st-ga. I too was a Tupperware "lady" and manager in the 70's. I had a most wonderful distributor in the Cleveland area. She taught is HOW to sell, gave free training once a week in addition to a sales rally once a week where we learned and were motivated by other Tupperware dealers. This is one of the best jobs I ever had. Driving around in a brand new car that didn't cost my family one cent except the gas and upkeep, the sales incentives that I won - like a new bike for my daughter, a swing for my porch, etc. We focused on winning these items and in the process we sold sold sold Tupperware. The distributor in my area was such a wonderful person and an extremely motivating person - she met head on all of our excuses for why we couldn't sell and made us look at ourselves in a whole new light. She turned many a life around and made millions of dollars for Tupperware and herself. We still love this lady and Tupperware. Emulate this company - learn all about the Tupperware philosophy and you too can have a winning company! Best of luck to you and remember as our distributor used to tell us: "keep on keeping on" don't let anyone or anything stop you. Good luck |
