Hello chimpware (I like the name -- I don't know what it means, but I
like it!),
I thought it was field hockey when I saw it too. It turns out that it
is hurling, a popular sport in Ireland.
Here is the commercial, called "Free-In", on Guinness's web site. The
description of the ad, under the heading "The Production", notes that
it "features real players in the hurling game."

In addition, you might be interested in a discussion of the commercial

I'm glad you asked the question -- I bet a lot of people besides you
and me were wondering about this commercial.
