Hello leec, There are many programs available that will stop popup advertisements, but most of them are not free. I have listed and summarized some programs below that will get rid of your popups once and for all. It is important to realize however, that many content based websites on the internet are funded through advertising, and some websites even detect if their users are blocking advertisments and block them from using the website until ad-block programs are disabled. Web Washer is a free program (for personal users) and is capable of eliminating popup windows as well as many other features: http://www.webwasher.com/en/products/wwash/index.htm NoAds by South Bay Software is another free program that will allow you to get rid of pop-up messages on the internet once and for all. You can download it here: http://www.southbaypc.com/NoAds/ PopUpKiller is another popular program used to stop advertisements from taking over system resources. You can find "the ultimate killing machine" here: http://software.xfx.net/utilities/popupkiller/ If you are not using Windows, you can find all sorts of popup blockers at this website for Unix, Macintosh etc.: http://www.flourish.org/adremove I hope this helps to answer your question. If you need any clarifications with this answer let me know and I will do my best to further assist you. tisme-ga Search Strategy: stop popups ://www.google.ca/search?q=stop+popups&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&hl=en&meta= popup advertisements stop OR remove OR disable ://www.google.ca/search?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=popup+advertisements+stop+OR+remove+OR+disable&spell=1 Also used Google Directories under: http://directory.google.com/Top/Computers/Software/Internet/Servers/Proxy/Filtering/Ad_Filters/ |

Mozilla and Netscape now have built-in pop-up blocking. It isn't enabled by default; the user must turn it on manually. There are other fine-grained controls as well, such as the ability to read/write/modify cookies, and re-ordering the window stacking order. |

I've found that Proxomitron (http://www.proxomitron.org/) works great. It gets rid of pop ups and many banner ads and can be configured to get rid of lots of other nasty stuff. |
