I am looking for a site where you can calculate the height and time of
a sea tide anywhere in the (salt water) world for a particular date.

hi brudebell,
I have found a site that offers tidal predictions for over 6000 ports
worldwide.
up to six ahead - you can choose the day you want from a drop-down
menu list
Key features include:
*	Seven day tidal predictions
*	High / low water heights and times
*	Times shown local to the selected port (note: times do not include
Daylight Savings)
*	Results displayed as a tidal curve
*	Printer friendly option
*	Bookmarking facility enabling direct access to favourite ports

I was unable to find a online calculator that allows you to enter a
specific date for any location in the world.

Will this do?

Thanks  jackburton-ga

 Ideally I would like a site that can calculate for a specific
latitude and longitude.

Please post your found site as an answer. If you happen across another
please let me know.

hi brudenell,

Thanks for coming back to me. This link to this site is:

Found most of the information that I was searching for. Interestingly
"JTides contain data for so many sites (over 2000 in the default
configuration), you can obtain tidal forecasts for places where there
are no printed tables available". Also the British Admiralty site is
exceptional! Thank you.

Just a comment re:

 There is no simple formula which would do this as a function of coordinates.
 In principle, it a solution of a very complex PDE equation which depends
 on shape of continents. Empirical maps which show (interesting) dependence
 on coordinates do exist (but that is a different question :-)
