I have information about the first artist, but the second artist is
proving difficult to find. I have tried many variations on the name
that you provided on a few search engines, with no luck. Do you know
anything more about the artist or the work that he did, such as the
titles or subjects of any of his engravings?

Peter von Feremy's work included "Der letzte Augenblick", which
appears to be the head of Christ with a crown of thorns.

If I may, I speak German and I'd be willing to translate for
"justaskscott" if your art "Der letzte Augenblick" has any other
notation on it that you think might be helpful. Incidentally, this
common depiction of Christ is almost 2000 years old so it is very
possible that the artisan was merely the craftsman who did the
engraving of a known or an imagined image, and was not the original
artist. I combed through a multitude of German web sites and found no
reference to him whatsoever. As a point of interest, the phrase "Der
letzte Augenblick" means "the final moment", and the scene undoutedly
depicts Christ as he breathes his least breath upon the cross.

Danke, Herr Tutuzdad, aber ich kann auch etwas Deutsch. (Translation:
Thank you, Mr. Tutuzdad, but I also know some German.) :-) I tried
German web sites as well, to no avail.

Hello swiftflyer --

I noticed that you have opened a question on the second artist. Does
that mean that you would like me to provide an answer here as to the
first artist? If so, do you want to reduce the price of this question
before I answer it?

I thought I was conforming to the suggestion made. Sorry, if I screwed
it up. Breaking the one question into two separate questions seemed
reasonable, so I attempted to do that. This being my first use of
Google Answers, it probably went wrong.

Having received the first answer (Rüdisühli), my second question
((Feremy) is still open. I split the $25 into $15 & $10 respectively.

Thank you,

Well, it didn't work out the way I had hoped, but the main thing is
that you got a good answer. (Scriptor is an excellent researcher.) I
would recommend now that you close this question, and leave open the
one on Peter von Feremy.

Hi swiftflyer-ga,

If you are interested in livioflores-ga's idea, I would be happy to
answer a separate question on the first artist. You could open a new
question on the first artist and expressly limit the current question
to the second artist, whom I still have not found. You can also
reduce the price of the current question accordingly.
