Question ID: 116956
I am looking for source material on the history over the past thirty
years (or so) of the changing structure/content of B.A. undergraduate
degrees in English Studies or English Language and Literature in NON
English speaking countries. A particular focus on course or module
titles and their contents would suit me best.

I am not looking for material on English degrees in English speaking
countries designed for non-native speakers.

Journal articles, books, both acceptable but should be published after
1990; web sites OK but no more than 30 % of the total. Material solely
related to India (whether Journal Article, book, or web site) should
not form more than 50 % of the total. A bibliography of about five to
10 on-topic sources would be fine. Shorter overview type articles more
welcome than detailed analytical books.

You might like to work on my other question submitted today similar to
this one but seeking information on the development of English
Studies/English Language and Literature degrees in the USA, UK, Eire,
Australia, Canada, and New Zealand.

Hi,

Just a small clarification. I will be happy to provide to you detailed
information regarding these courses pertaining to India as I have
friends who are currently pursuing the same. I know you are NOT
looking at India alone. Which other non-english countries do you want
course information about?

Warmest Regards,
Shiv Reddy

Hi Shiv Reddy,

I am looking for a history of how the scope and content of B.A.
degrees in English Studies / English Language and Literature have
developed and changed over the last thirty (or so) years in non-native
English speaking countries so its basically anywhere in the World
outside the UK and Anglo-saxon diaspora of North America, Australia,
and New Zealand.

For India I am aware of a book 'English Studies in India: Widening
Horizons' by C.D. Narasimhaiah ISBN 81-85753-51-2 and I would be happy
to learn about one or two other similar sources for India but I also
want stuff on the rest of the World as well.

If you can come up with a bibliography of between 5 and 10 sources
dealing with my topic then that is great.

Good luck

Paul
