Hi... I'm looking for a way to obtain an old album as a gift to my
parents: I don't care whether it's in LP, 8-track, cassette, CD, mp3
or other formats... I can convert.

It's by a group of Sovietologists from the 1950s. It's a humor record.
It has a song that goes "Leon Trotsky was a Nazi, oh we knew it for a
fact; Pravda said it, we all read it, before the Stalin-Hitler pact."

Thanks!

Wow... thanks for all the helpful comments. You guys are fantastic.
Just to clarify: a $175 box set is out of the price range I'm thinking
of (although I'm deeply impressed you found that)

Thanks,
Ryan

This album is called "Ballads for Sectarians" by Joe Glazer & Bill Friedland.
I was not able to find any copies of the track online. I will keep trying.

And the specific song you quoted is apparently called "In Old Moscow":

http://www.fortunecity.com/tinpan/parton/2/friedland.html

As shivreddy-ga stated, it appears on "Ballads for Sectarians" by Joe
Glazer & Bill Friedland (Labor Arts, late 1951 or early 1952). I've
been unable to locate a source for the LP. But maybe another
researcher will have luck.

Some other tracks on the LP:
"The Last International"
"Our Line's Been Changed Again"
"The Land of the Daily Worker"
"You Ain't No Comrade of Mine"
"Oh My Darling Party Line"

Nope! The track just simply is not online. I will have to go to other
sources for this.

Hey there ryan222.

I found a 10-CD disk set up for auction on Ebay that ends in about 8
hours from now. It looks kinda pricey but the song that you're
looking for is in the set. The song itself is listed almost at the
very end of the musical selections listed.
