Though I like the layout of your site, it would probably help your search engine ranking if you had some text on the home page that describes what your company does and what the site is about. many search engines give this precedence over meta tags these days, so the most important thing to do is have a good first paragraph on your home page. A good site to check out to optimize for search engines is www.selfpromotion.com |

To add to Funkywizard's good advice, you might consider putting descriptions of your images in the <ALT> tags. For example, for this image http://www.royalfashions.com/images/main_right.gif ...your <ALT> text might read "Beautiful African jewelry and fashions." <ALT> text for products should say what the product is (Shell necklace, $19.95", etc.). Search engines do view <ALT> text as content, and <ALT> text makes your site accessible to people who use text only browsers. --Missy |

Funkywizard hit it on the head with the text on your index page. Very important for spidering and search engine optimization. From surfing around your site, the "ALT" tag, as pointed out by Missy, will definately help as well. Other ideas that popped up: -On the free gifts page, I would remove any links to pages that contain no info, i.e., "up tp $50" (which has a typo, by the way. the links says "upto" as opposed to "up to") and the "$51-$100" page. Either that or put something on those pages to the effect of "No offers at the current time". -Item names/descriptions. On your catalog pages, you may want to name the items or give a description. For example: item # AFJ-1021. On the catalog page, you may want to list it as "AFJ-1021 Hand Crafted Necklace" because just looking at the catalog page, I didn't know if it was the sweater or the necklace that I was looking at. -Shipping and Returns. This page only has return information, not shipping. You may want to put some information here regarding how you ship, links to the various shipping companies you use in order to trace, etc. Other than that, a very fast loading, easy to navigate site that is well laid out and very aesthically pleasing. Nice job. Regards, -THV |
