Who had number one hits with 'Respire' and 'Arsonist'? And when, and
in how many countries? |

Dear denco-ga and robw-ga,
No, the titles were definitely Respire and Arsonist. I believe both
tracks were by the same artist, but there is a possibility that
different artists had hits with them. The key thing is who got to
number one with each of them. Could it have been in a different
country?

I think I've found Arsonist, but no information about whether it was a
number one hit. It seems to have been a popular club track.
I've also found another Respire than the one Missy found. Both might
be the one you are looking for. I have one way to distinguish them --
are there vocals (in particular, French vocals) on the track?
In general, what do these two songs sound like?
Would you accept an answer that simply has the name and year of each
song, even if there is no indication of their chart position?

justaskscott,
I need the artist or group who took both tracks to no.1 in the same
country. So: artist, country, and month when each track made it.
Both songs have been sung by French-language groups, and so the
country is likely to be France, Belgium, Luxembourg, etc.

Are you sure that the song Arsonist is by a French-language group?
The word "Arsonist" itself is not French, so it makes me wonder. (By
contrast, "Respire" is a French word.) The song Arsonist I've heard
sounds more like dancehall reggae, sung in Jamaican-accented English.
Was the singing in French in the song that you heard?

justaskscott,
I understand that both songs were sung by French-language groups, and
somewhere one group got them both to number one. I myself have only
ever heard 'Respire', which was very French.
