Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, "Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous"? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people will not feel insecure around you. We were born to manifest the glory of God that is within us. It is not just in some of us: It is in everyone. And, as we let our light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others". This quote is often given to Nelson Mandela, which is not really true. I don't know who orginaly thought that Nelson Mandela got up in front of a crowd and said a word like "fabulous" but it's kind of funny to think that. Anyway, my question to the Researchers is, where does the quote really come from and what is the page number? Yes, that is a hint, and yes I do know the answer, but I'm willing to pay the bid for a correct answer. Good luck and happy hunting! webadept-ga |

Hello. The quote is from: "RETURN TO LOVE: Reflections on the Principles of 'A Course in Miracles'" by Marianne Williamson HarperCollins 1992 (Paperback edition; pp 190-191) sources: Marianne Williamson's web page marianne.com: http://www.marianne.com/MWourdeepestfear.html "Judi's Pithy Sayings", hosted by University of Tennessee: http://www.cs.utk.edu/~judi/Fun/pithy-sayings.html The NHNE.com News Brief: http://www.nhne.com/newsbriefs/nhnenb60.html search strategy: mandela, "automatically liberates others", "quotation comes from" I hope this helps. :-) |
