For a marketing project, I would like to know how MSN is doing in
Europe. The purpose is to decide whether to enter a multi-year
advertising deal with MSN Europe. We are a small business and do not
have a lot of resources to get data.
By MSN in Europe consists of the following properties: Hotmail,
Instant Messenger, MSN Search, the MSN country homepages (msn.co.uk,
msn.de, msn.fr, msn.it, msn.at, msn.se, etc.) and Internet Explorer.
What I want to know is, is the use of Hotmail/MSN Instant Messenger,
MSN Search, etc. growing in Europe or is it shrinking. The form of
the data could be in number of users, in page views, or in minutes
spent. I would like data from 2000, 2001, and 2002 if possible so see
if I can find a trend.
The charts I have in mind are:
Hotmail, 2000,2001,2002
IM 2000,2001,2002
MSN European country sites, 2000,2001,2002
The vertical axis can be anything quantitative, eg. users, page views, time spent
I think this data is most likely found in the MSN marketing material
which may be available at the MSN country sites (msn.co.uk, etc.).
Alternatively, it may be found in the Nielsen NetRatings site or in
Jupiter/Media Metrix. This is also information which may be found in
Google or other news services. |
