I'm looking for Boyd's Water Activated Ultra Violet Hand Cleaner. It removes paint, grease, oil, ink. The address on the can says: Boyd's Ultra Violet / co PDI./ 12396 World Trade Drive, Suite 318 / San Diego, CA 92128. I have tried calling telephone information for Boyd's, PDI and Performance Distribution,Inc. and they weren't able to find any of these listings. | |

Hello..I looked around but didn't find much. If no one can answer your question, you might want to see if the landlord at that address can help you. The company that owns the building is Arden Realty: http://www.ardenrealty.com/op_show_selected.asp?bldg=1290 Good luck. bizguy |

I've tried contacting people in that building to no avail. Sounds like the product is made one place and marketed through another. Thanks. Marjorie |

gaga124 -- Unfortunately, I have reached a dead end, and so I am posting this as a comment instead of an answer. The original manufacturer of the product was apparently Boyd's Wheels. That company went through a bankruptcy and liquidation and was "delisted" by NASDAQ in March 1998. See the following link (about 3/4 of the way down the page): NASDAQ Deletions Archive http://www.nasdaqnews.com/news/deletions/del_0398.html Automotive Performance Group, Inc. purchased 80% of the stock of Boyd's Wheels in 1999. That company appears not to be an operating company but rather an entity that exists (or existed) to hold the stock of the bankrupt company and liquidate some or all of its assets. At the link below is a profile of that company, which indicates that "[d]uring the year 1999, the company discontinued its speciality chemical subsidiary and automotive parts and accessories subsidiaries." This liquidation may have included the line of products in which you are interested: Wright Investors' Services http://profiles.wisi.com/profiles/scripts/corpinfo.asp?cusip=05329J101 The only reference I have found to a preexisting licensing agreement for the sale of the Boyd's Ultra Violet line was to a plan by the Auto Zone chain to resume stocking the products in late 1996: The Wax and Polish Market http://www.happi.com/special/sepwax.htm However, a search at the "Auto Zone" website did not indicate that the chain was still stocking the "Ultra Violet" line. Finally, as scriptor-ga notes, the last known distributor of the line, Performance Distribution, Inc., appears to gone out of business in 1999, although it still has a skeletal webste: http://www.pdi1.com/ My only suggestion at this point would be for you to contact Auto Zone retail outlets in the hope of finding a knowledgeable employee who might be able to help you locate any existing inventories of the product. markj-ga |

Thanks so much for trying. Guess I'm up that creek without my paddle. AutoZone was the first place we went because that's where it came from. He's been there a couple of times with his much beloved but now empty jar. He talked to the manager and someone at AutoZone headquarters. No luck. Nothing would have made my husband happier on Christmas morning. Thanks again, guys. |
