Question ID: 118569
I am seeking modern or contemporary/minimalist fences examples that
work well with a Galvalume style house (housing examples can be found
in the Word document located here:
http://dmoore.com/temp/west-end-houses.doc - 5mb) that meet the
following criteria:

Use steel and/or a concrete/steel mix of materials
Not using basic vertical/horizontal C or R Panels (as shown in the
examples as 5400 Rose St)
Not using chain link
Not using wrought iron

I am looking for links to websites or reference materials where I can
find examples.

Hi dmooredotcom:

Thanks for the interesting question!

I've been able to find some good websites with modern steel fences
that I think would suit your Galvalume-style houses well. I've listed
the sites with the ones *I* think are best suited. Given the style of
your homes, I think something with simple-shaped poles/bars and a
neutral color scheme are your best bet. Of course, you can pick from
any others on the pages as well.

Steel Fences

My Favorites: 3 Rail Genesis (white)

Ornamental Steel Fences
http://www.orlandofence.com/orn_ameristar.htm
My Favorites: Genesis, Majestic

Timbercrete Fence Systems

Favorites: Bottom row of pictures

If you need more examples, please ask using the Clarification feature.
Provide your thoughts on the fences I've included above and any other
information that might help me find further examples that better suit
your needs.

Thanks!

I guess I should have stated that I was looking for something less
than traditional. While those are fine fences I would consider them
to be typical. I am leaning more toward form than function as the
example show below:

I perfer a style that is visually open.

Hi dmooredotcom:

I'm sorry that I totally misunderstood your question.

I was unable to find sufficient examples along the lines of what you
are looking for. The only one I could find was:

Jefferson Mack Metal, Inc.
Wesite: http://www.mackmetal.com/
Examples: http://www.mackmetal.com/results.tpl?cart=324791522234022&catsuid=9.4&category=Residential%20Gate%20Examples&page=1&catlistimgname=&catlistw=&catlisth=&catlistimage=No
Note: While these are mostly gates, the concepts could be expanded to
an entire fence. This company does custom work.

I will ask the Google Answer editors to remove my answer so that
someone else can have a try. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Before I ask the editors to remove my answer, please let me know that
you did get to see the one site I was able to find.

Thanks.

Thanks - that is more in line with that I was looking for. Could you
clairify what search terms you used to come up with that site?

No need to request a refund.

Hi dmooredotcom:

Thank you very much for being so understanding. :-)

I tried many different searches while looking for your information.
The one that lead to the site I mentioned above was:

forged steel residential
://www.google.com/search?hl=en&ie=ISO-8859-1&q=forged+steel+residential

In the first page of results, there was a link to the following
listing of forged metalwork companies:

FORGED METALWORK
http://www.traditional-building.com/3-forge.htm

Jefferson Mack Metal, Inc. was about halfway down the page.

Some, but not all, of the other searches I did include:

"artistic steel"
"artistic steel" fences
"steel fence" metalsmith
"steel fences" art
"steel fences" artisan
"steel fences" artwork
"steel fences" modern
"steel fences" handcrafted
blacksmith steel fences
craftsman steel fence -traditional
fences "forged steel"
