My father, Elemer Polony, was an artist in NY and Europe (Germany and
Hungary). He died in 1991. I'd like to find more information about him
and his work than shows up on Google. Sepcifically, are there
galleries or museums showing his work currently?

Could you please give us some more information about your father? One
of the sources I found said that he was an impressionist painter but
another one indicated he worked with marble and mosaics. What were his
modes of expression? It would also help if you could tell us where
(cities/institutions) he worked and where you think his work has been
exhibited. Any additional information you can share will help with our
research efforts. Thanks.

No, he wasn't an Impressionist. He did work with marble and mosaics in
murals done on commission for the City of New York c. 1969-1980, but I
already have info on that period. He lived in NYC 1959-1984, then
Tonawanda NY until 1991. Work was shown in a galery in Cologne, (West)
Germany in early '80s, and he had a major retrospective in the
National Gallery in Budapest in 1985, as well as other shows too
numerous to mention. His widow, Edit, lives in Florida (I think) and
she may have exhibited some of his work there since 1991. What I'm
really interested is what has become of the nearly 3000 canvases he
left behind when he died. Are they being shown, or what?
