I need a Kohler plumbing product called #49114 Flush Ball. It is a
toilet replacement part. Kohler says it has been replaced by a new
design, #87449. I have bought that new design, but despite what
Kohler says, it doesn't work in our toilets. I therefore need to find
a supply of the original #49114 Flush Ball, which I am willing to buy
in quantity.

Hi, I found the following part available at:

http://www.contractor-hardware.net/hardware/iteminfo.html?action=iteminfo&item=037155808120&cat_id=535

Supposedly this is a replacement part for the Kohler #49114 Flush Ball
however it is not made by Kohler but Danco. It looks structurally
very similar to the Kohler #49114:

I did not post this comment as an answer because I was unsure whether
the part would work. If you think it will work, then let me know and
I will repost my comment as an answer.

Thanks and best of luck!

A lot of merchants stock replacement parts that look the same as the
Kohler one. I've tried several of those parts. For some reason, they
do not work as well -- probably a difference in the material from
which they are made (aftermarket manufacturers sell products for less
than brand-name manufacturers do; the difference must come from
somewhere). I'm really looking for someone with a stock of the actual
Kohler brand-name product.

Researchers...
Please note that the listing for the part at
the Frank Burton & Sons site is inaccurate:

They do not have the desired part in stock.
