What Canadian mobile phone companies can provide me with the GSM SIM
card that I can use while traveling to Europe and the Middle East? And
if so, what is the name of the service/SIM card that I should ask them
for?
Thanks... |

Hi! Are you just looking for the sim card? Would contact numbers for
Canadian mobile phone companies which offer "global roaming" services
be enough as a legitimate answer? Just let me know. :)

Hi easterangel,
thanks for the quick reply...
Yes, I want to buy a SIM card that I can use abroad, especially in the
Middle East. Telephone numbers of companies are OK, but if there is a
list of the specific sections on thier website that offer more info
about this issue, it would be better; as it will provide me with a
chance for comparison.
all the best....

Hello again. I was only able to find 2 mobile phone companies in
Canada which provides phones and services for global roaming. Nothing
specific on the Sim Cards. One is for GSM and the other one CDMA.
Would these be ok? Just let me know. :)

Hi! Well, the GSM one will do. The other will not be very useful
because most of the networks there are GSM. Is there a chance to have
a chance of another GSM company, just in case the first one doesn't
work out?
Thanks...

Hi
Thanks for posting your search links.
I took some time to review them, but there seems to be a
misunderstanding. These companies are talking about providing roaming
services inside Canada. For example, if you have European cell phone,
they tell you what are the requirements so that you can use it inside
Canada. What I requested was the other way around, i.e., Canadian GSM
sim cards that can work internationally, and especially in Middle East
countries. To make it even easier, if there are companies that have
their Roaming GSM services working in Saudi Arabia, that would satisfy
my requirements.

Thanks for asking a clarification before making a rating. I hope you
would be patient with me on this one.
Yes they can be used outside of Canada. That is the reason why I
included the international coverage and their roaming partners around
the world. As I understand it, through their roaming partners, you
could use the phones in these countries as well.
I hope I have clarified my answer at this time. However, if there are
still some question, please do ask for another clarification.
Thanks.

Hi again. Thanks for the clarification.
Theoretically, that's true, but practically, you never know if roaming
will work the other way around or not, especially for the outgoing
calls (incoming calls are no problem). That will require some more
research to find out.
I must admit though, that your effort has helped me find the right
answer. Check out http://www.microcell.ca/EN/02/index.asp?id=02&sid=01
Now, what I was looking for are the links at the bottom of the page,
which lead to other site where I can verify the roaming functionality,
and purchase air-time plan.
By the way, why not have a look at my other posted questions on

as I thought you might be interested in helping me with them.
Thanks.

Its good to have you back. I have checked the other services youve
requested and I found only 2 of them which are applicable to your
needs. The rest are use for GPS and tracking services and not for
mobile phones.
Cityfone Digital Wireless Network
http://www.cityfone.net/coverage/bottom_international.php
and
Simpro
http://www.simpro.ca/
Both of these services have global roaming capabilities for your
phones. I hope that this was of help to what you want to accomplish.
I will try to look at your other posts and see what I can do. Again
thank you for visiting us.
