Talk about throwing me off. I saw this question heading, and went in,
and saw your text "Jacob Ruppert's middle name?"

And I'm thinking "Hey, that name sounds familiar."

Took me a while to figure out why though, because I couldn't remember
finding it anywhere. I did a search for "ruppert" on google answers
and realized you'd been trying to reach me.

Thank you very much for your generosity in regards to this question. I
didn't expect you to pay me for not finding an answer, so this is a
double bonus.

It wouldn't help in this question, but have you ever used
www.vitalcheck.com?

They do mention that for the City of New York, they have birth records
for 1910 onwards. They also mention that the city will only provide
birth records to the person themselves, or a parent named on the
certificate.

They also provide death records, but not online:

Death certificates may only be obtained in person or by mail. For
address, telephone, and price information call the vital records
automated information line at 212-788-4520

I'm thinking maybe:

1) They can direct you to a source for birth records going back as far
as needed for this question.
2) Maybe you can talk to them regarding circumstances like these (is
privacy such an issue for someone who died more then 60 years ago?

There must be some source of the information, otherwise how would
history books and biographies and family histories be written?

It looks like vitalcheck.com may be a good source of general
information about each of the institutions providing records for it.

Thank you very much for your generosity. I will see if I can do a bit
of digging into your other questions. I have looked at a few, but I
don't like to make a comment or especially an answer when I don't make
any progress.

Thanks again.

Dear sparky4ca,
That is exactly the way I feel as well. You can imagine when
one has 52 active questions open at once how much energy I'd have to
expend if everyone who's working on my questions with no progress,
gave me an update. What could I say? I'd just feel guilty that others
are expending time, effort, and tenacity on my behalf, and not being
justly compensated. I feel weird. Thanks for looking at my other
stuff. Have you tried Emil Hauser, violinist yet? I'm trying hard to
retire him. But please, only if you have concrete info, do you need to
contact me. Bluestreak

Hi Bluestreak, I'm just posting this to clear the "needs
clarification" from my questions list. Pete Nugent and Emil Hauser
seem to be tracked as fas as they can. I'll look into more when I get
home from work.

Hi sparky4ca!
It's been since Nov.20 that you sucessfully answered this
question. That was on the very first day I posted a question and
wasn't familiar with how this system works. You spent considerable
time, going into his family genealogy, his signature, etc. I wanted to
accept your findings that he never had a middle name, nor had his rich
Dad. So I closed the question and asked you to submit an answer! I
wasn't suppose to close the question first! And it's been bothering me
ever since. So now we can make right your compensation for your time
and excellent researching. Also, I have so many "dry", unjuicy
questions that have been passed over. Might you be persuaded to take a
look? The ones I'm most anxious to put to bed are: Pete Nugent(tap
dancer),Emil Hauser(violinist),William Griffith(ballet teach). I've
attempted to tip you as best I can for your having to wait all this
time. Thank you so much sparky4ca for helping me.
