Five roles of Congress:

1) To represent the people of the United States in discussions of
issues.
2) To give the President the powers to lead the country into war.
3) To discuss and negotiate proposed legislation.
4) To raise and support the Army.
5) The power to impeach a President.

Eight differences between the House and the Senate:

1) House has 435 members. Senate has 100.
2) Members of the House serve two-year terms. Members of the Senate
serve six-year terms.
3) Members of the House represent several counties. Members of the
Senate represent an entire state.
4) Members of the House elect the Speaker of the House. The Vice
President acts as the President of the Senate.
5) Revenue legislation must be generated in the House. It cannot
originate from the Senate.
6) The Senate rules allow for a filibuster. A vote in the Senate
cannot take place until after debate has been completed. No such rule
is in the House.
7) "GERMANE is the technical term for "relevant." Amendments are said
to be germane or non-germane to a bill. The House requires germaneness
of amendment at all times unless an exception is made by special rule.
In most circumstances, the Senate does not require germaneness. Senate
tradition permits Senators to offer amendments on any subject even if
unrelated to the bill's topic."
8) You can legally become a member of the House after your 25th
birthday. You can legally become a member of the Senate after your
30th birthday.

I found a good web site that has all kinds of good information about
