Blot1 –

Ah, the joys of day baseball! Each of these games was played at
mid-day. The first two games were in Baltimore on Saturday, Oct. 11,
and Sunday, Oct.12. Both games started at 1 p.m.

The boxes for the game 1:

NY Mets 1-6-1
BAL Orioles 4-6-0
W. Cuellar
L: Seaver

Game 2:
NY Mets 2-6-0
BAL Orioles 1-2-0
W: Koosman
L: McNally

The two teams moved to New York's Shea Stadium on Tuesday, Oct. 14 and
Wednesday, Oct. 15, where the first two games started at 1 pm,
according to the New York Times from those dates. George Vecsey in
the Oct. 15 NY Times describes the Mets fans hanging on until the end
of the Tuesday game to savor the victory, including Mrs. Jacqueline
Onassis, her son John, Jr. and Caroline:

Game 3:
NY Mets 5-6-0
BAL Orioles 0-4-1
W: Gentry
L: Palmer

Game 4 (10 innings)
NY Mets 2-10-1
BAL Orioles 1-6-1
W: Seaver
L: Hall

Though I couldn't find the start time for Thursday's 5th and final
game, the NY Times in its coverage two days after the game notes that
the Mets were World Champions at 3:17 pm. And this recent article
critiquing the poor TV ratings for the World Series notes that the
games in that series averaged 2 hours 21 minutes – so the game almost
certainly started at 1 pm too:
Scripps Howard News Service
"Low ratings for World Series? Here's Why" (Oct. 30, 2002)
http://www.sportserver.com/baseball/mlb/general/story/598891p-4641144c.html

Game 5:
NY Mets 5-7-0
BAL Orioles 3-5-2
W: Koosman
L: Watt

Now – were all of the games televised? It's virtually certain that
they were, though I couldn't find a game-by-game confirmation. All of
the World Series games have been covered by network contracts since
1968 and until recently there's been great incentive to televise all
of the games.

Baseball Almanac notes that NBC's exclusive contract to broadcast the
World Series in 1969 had one of the highest ratings ever (a 58% share,
compared to 20% for the 2002 Series on Fox), despite the games being
played during the day. The popularity of the broadcasts makes it a
safe bet they were all televised:

Google search strategy:
"World Series" + television + 1969 + ratings
Proquest search of NY Times sports stories

Thank you - I thought I tried "everything" and couldn't understand why
the info wasn't there. It seemed simple! (ie, what time the games were
played)
