I have XP, recently installed. I have Explorer 6.0.2800.1106 xpsp1
020828-19201S. Explorer also says "Microsoft Explorer provided by
America Oline" -- though I don't understand that, since I can't recall
asking AOL for this. Anyway, I've set the history to keep bookmarks
for 25 days. But it deletes them every day. Any idea of how to fix
this? And should I get a newer version of Explorer?

Internet Explorer has "Microsoft Explorer provided by America Oline"
in the title bar because AOL has been installed at some point. The
only way to change it back is to go into the registry and change it or
find a program on the internet to do so.

As far as the history being deleted it will delete history from 25
days ago every day. If the history for yesterday is being deleted
someone is probably deleting it manually. If that is not the case then
maby check your Temporary Internet Files settings and see how much
space is allocated. You should have at least 30-50 MB or so allocated
for this.

Where is the Temporary Internet Files settings? I've just re-done my
system to be 2000 and not XP and everything needs to be started
over... bbb-ga
