comments, expectations for the price, free cash flow, enterprise
vlaue, debt, gearing, dividend cover, indepenedent assesmant of the
company's future prospects, and any other information relevant to
making an informed purchase of UK shares. Particular interst in top
250 compnaies. Also like to do comparables, so idealy able to
download the information to a spreadheet. Also intersted in web sites
that have done this research and are recommending certain shares.

Ideal answer will be a web site that provides all this information.

I am unsure if you will find a site that will provide all of this
information for free.

I do know of a site that has free real time quotes, with most of the
data you require. A minimal monthly fee will be required to upgrade to
add more features, but the basics are free.

Would you be interested in this site?

Many thanks,
SgtCory

I believe there are plenty of sites which offer free real time quotes
eg www.iii.co.uk and www.yahoo.co.uk/finace. The intersting stuff is
the extra information i require (market cap, yield, analysts
comments, expectations for the price, free cash flow, enterprise
vlaue, debt, gearing, dividend cover, indepenedent assesmant of the
company's future prospects, and any other information relevant to
making an informed purchase of UK shares).

If this info is not available for free how much will it cost.

Dear db10,

You have requested information about financial data for British
shares.

There are two main and comprehensive sources I would like to point you
to.
The first is Yahoo! Finance –

finance.yahoo.com

While most everybody knows Yahoo! Finance provides coverage of US
shares, few know that you can also receive the same great coverage of
most international shares with a simple manipulation of the ticker
symbol. For example, let us assume you are seeking info about shares
of Marks & Spencer. Their ticker is MLS, but if you type MLS in to
the quote window and hit enter, you’ll receive information about MKS
that trades on the NYSE. To get the MKS trading on the London Stock
Exchange, enter MKS.L (with the “L” standing for London). You’ll be
able to receive the wide range of information Yahoo! Finance provides
for every other share, and Yahoo! also allows you to download data to
a spreadsheet.

Another great site for info on British shares is –

www.ft.com

Which is the home page for the venerable Financial Times, the major
global competitor to the Wall Street Journal. The Financial Times
provides full coverage of the London Stock Exchange (of course!) at –

http://news.ft.com/markets/uk

Again, you can enter a ticker symbol (or look it up), and receive a
very wide range of information including quotes, historical prices,
news, fundamentals, financials, interactive charting and analyst
estimates and recommendations.

The Financial Times manages an additional site, FT Investor, that
provides access to additional information about equities and the
markets. It is at –

http://investor.ft.com/custom/ftmarkets-com/news/default.asp?FTSite=FTMW

Another site that provides in-depth information on British stocks is
UKCityMedia. Check it out at -

http://www.ukcitymedia.co.uk/allinfo.HTM

There is also a bulletin board you can sign up for. Once there, you
will be able to read others’ opinions on British stocks and to ask
questions etc.

UK Share Net defines itself as the “Essential Resource for UK
Investors.” It is at

http://www.uksharenet.co.uk/Stock_Brokers/Nothing_Ventured_American_Express_Sharepeople.shtml

Similar information to UK City Media and another bulletin board you
can subscribe to.

Last, but not least – access the London Stock Exchange’s official site
at –

http://www.londonstockexchange.com/

Again, comprehensive financial information about all equities traded
on the LSE.

I hope this response adequately addresses your request – please let me
know if you need additional information.
Thanks,
ragingacademic

db10 -

I have just seen your clarification after posting my reply and now
realize that you are familiar with Yahoo Finance as well as with its
British counterpart. If the other sites I have listed do not satisfy
your information needs, please let me know and I will be glad to
perform additional research on your behalf.

Thanks,

Here you go - I think the one I have was exactly what you were looking
for, as opposed to Yahoo etc..

http://www.advfn.com

You can sign up for free and learn much more about the stocks than at
most other sites that are available.

Thanks -
SgtCory
