Under U.S. and Maine State Labor Laws is an employer required to treat
sick time used as part of "regular hours worked" when calculating pay?

More specifically - if a employee works 32 hours of a regular 40 hour
work week and takes 8 hours of sick time but also works 3 hours more
(overtime) - is the three hours overtime to be paid at 1.5 times
regular pay or is the 3 hours tacked onto the 32 hours to make 35
hours regular pay plus 8 hours sick pay?
