I am looking to buy a print of Edvard Munch's Starry Night, not Van
Gogh's. I found a book which has a pullout, however I want a poster
that I can hang on the wall, preferably an inexpensive one. I have
looked all over but I can't seem to find it.

Hello shmurfect-ga,

I haven't been able to find able to find anyone selling an inexpensive
poster or print of Munch's "Starry Night'.

I found a reproduction oil painting on canvas being sold for $125 at
AllOilPaintings.com (http://store.yahoo.com/alloilpaintings-store/munstarnig.html).

Yahoo shopping also has a couple of more expensive prints listed
(http://all.search.shopping.yahoo.com/search/all?is=&P=all&p=munch+starry&mid=).

I wasn't sure if you would consider this as an acceptable answer, so I
haven't posted it as the official answer.

If you would like, you can keep it open in case some other researcher
can find it someone selling the poster.

If you find this an acceptable answer, let me know, and I will post it
along with my search strategy and any other information I have.

Thanks,
Googlenut

Hi Googlenut,

Thanks for your research, but your finds coincide with what I've
already found and it's not really what I'm looking for. I'm really
just looking for a poster. I'll leave this up here to see if anybody
else can find something closer to what I'm looking for. Thanks again.

There appears to be no poster of that painting. One vendor even
searched the European catalogues and could find nothing. A search at
the gift shop of the Munch museum in Oslo was also fruitless. The book
by Louise Lippincott is the best available option.

As a side note, Munch made a series of paintings with that name,
differentiated by the year painted.
