Hi ca1967,

I've provided all information I was able to find on these tapes in the
comments section. It occurs to me that you didn't notice the comment,
since it was at the bottom of the page, so I'm posting here to let you
know.

I didn't post it as an answer because two of the tapes are completely
unavailable for purchase, and two are listed by their distributors as
being available only to "schools, libraries and educational
institutions". I didn't think the information I had justified
claiming the fee.

I see you have added The Executioner's Song to the list. That can be
purchased through Amazon.com:

H there,

I've spent quite a lot of time searching for these titles for you, but
since the information I've come up with is scanty, I'm going to post
what I have managed to find as a comment.

Perhaps someone with connections in the Out of Print video finding
service will have better luck!

DEATH BY MIDNIGHT
-----------------
Out of print, and no longer available for purchase. This video is
available in the holdings of the American University Libraries, whose
description I've included below. You may be able to find this through
your local library, who might also have purchasing information:

"Death by midnight. 1992. 2 videocassettes (ca. 96 min.). A report on
the efforts of anti-death penalty activists to win a reprieve for
convicted murderer Harold Otey, while death penalty proponents try to
ensure that the sentence remains intact. The program recounts the
crime and shows the preparations for carrying out the sentence.
Although the defense wins eight delays, the sentence is carried out in
September, 1994. VHS 2351"

12 ANGRY MEN
-------------

According to the Internet Movie Database, 12 Angry Men was first
released in 1957, then re-made in 1997. I've been unable to locate a
1990 release. Both versions are available at Amazon.com

THE EXECUTION

EXECUTION AT MIDNIGHT: POTOSI CORRECTIONAL INSTITUTE
-----------------------------------------------------

Originally produced by A&E Home Video, this tape is out of print and
no longer available for purchase. Like Death By Midnight, it can be
found among the holdings of the American Univeristy Libraries. Check
with your local library for possible purchasing information:

"Execution at midnight: Potosi Correctional Institute, Mineral Point,
Missouri. 1993. 1 videocassette (120 min.). Examines the death penalty
issue through interviews of seven death row inmates. Gives the
viewer the experience of the last hour of a condemned inmate's life as
he is taken to the holding cell and to the execution room. VHS 3954"

According to a review, this film is also available on DVD, but I've
been unable to locate it on DVD:

I hope someone will have some luck finding the two out of print titles
for you!
