I need to find a source or database that lists Homeowners' (a
euphemism for condominium owners) Associations in CA and Board
Members (or President or Secretary)--I am aware that Homeowners
Associations, as non-profit corps are registered with the Secretary of
State -- however, I am looking for a more direct and centralized
database.  The goal is to offer a service to the Homeowners
Association - to that end, we need to address ANY member of the
governing body (i.e. Board Member) Will tip generously and post rave
review if u can help!!!

I definately would be willing to pay for the info, but I've already
checked with sites and organizations that sell mailing/phone/fax/email
lists w/no luck - so a referral to the myriad sites that complie such
lists is not a legitimate answer.  A legitamate answer would entail a
referral to a site that sells precisely the type of info sought in the
body of the question (Contact info of Board member(s) of
Home/Condoowner's Assoc.)  Thanks!

Hello vaz-ga,

I’ve found some resources to help you reach the executives at
California homeowners associations.

I talked with the office manager at the Executive Council of Home
Owners and the updated version of their directory is at the publishers
and will be available for purchase in January. It will be on sale for
under $100.

You can also contact the eight chapters of the Community Associations
Institute. I’ve listed them below. They have individual policies on
giving access to their membership lists. You can also list your
product/service in their Professional Directory and reach your target
audience that way.

The California Association of Homeowners Associations makes it very
clear that they do not sell their member list, but they also have a
Preferred Vendor directory. You may want to explore this option.
Another possibility is to get access through a member.

Finally, you can purchase a prospect list of homeowners associations
from a market research firm. I checked with Zapdata 
(http://www.zapdata.com ) and they have about 5800 associations listed
nationwide. You can set up your own search targets on the Prospect
Lists page to limit your search to California. The SIC Code to use is
8641-0502 according to the customer support representative I talked to
this morning. If you have questions, you can call them at
800-532-3775.

I hope you find this helpful to get you started with reaching your

Hi,

I've been on a business trip and have only just now been able to get
to your prospective answer.  Unfortunately, you did not address the
call of the question - we are looking for a database of Board Members
of California homeowner's associations.  We already have the ECHO
directory & it does not have the requisite info.  We know that we can
contact the individual chapters of the CAI - again, this does not
provide the requisite info.  Marketing lists are useless as they dont
list Board Members.  While we appreciate your marketing tips, they are
not a substitute for the requisite info.  Please understand that we
are adept at research (I am an Investigative Analyst) and have covered
all the bases you mentioned.  If you are able to identify a "source or
database that lists Homeowners' (a euphemism for condominium owners)
Associations in CA and Board Members" (these are not stand alone
requests - a list of HOAs useless w/out identifying the Board Members)
please do so in your clarification.  Otherwise, we will be requesting
a refund.

I’m sorry that you find the information I’ve furnished redundant. You
didn’t indicate in your question or your response to the request for
clarifications that you’d already found the information I furnished.
In response to one of the clarification requests you said that you

database available from Zapdata will meet this requirement. I wish you

Your "sic"ing me is in spite - the fact stands that Zapdata's database
does not contain the names of Board Members, which was the substance
of my research request.  You failed to answer the question - we will
be requesting a refund.

I did not find your info "redundant" - you simply did not provide us
with a source of Board Member names - that is all we needed - the
other research you did was superflous - it did neither you nor us any
good.  Best of luck.

My request was for a database that provided the names of Board Members
of CA Homeowner's Associations.  The researcher's answer consisted of
sources that compile lists of Homeowner's Associations (which we
already have) and not the identity of Board Members (which we
explained that we needed.)  We requested clarification, only to be
re-directed to a company that compiles the names of some Homeowner's
Associations, but not the identity of Board Members (its hard to
believe there was legitimate ambiguity w/regard to this point).
