How can I attract spam?

Yup, it sounds stoopid. I signed up a new email service on a trial
basis. It has a powerful spam filter and I want to fully test it
before my trial runs out. I need websites (not adult) or email
addresses that I can post my address to that are guaranteed to result
in lots of spam. The internet has lots of information about how to
stop spam nothing on how to attract it. I don't have a website, so I
can't do a spam bait thing.

Hello.

Yes, that is an unusual request. However, I believe your answer lies
in the form of “safelists”. If you join one (or several) of these,
you are guaranteed a flood of marketing e-mails. Why? Because a
safelist is a database of e-mail addresses that people have
specifically agreed to receive such material.

When you join a safelist, you are given the rights and the means to
broadcast your own marketing e-mails to every member on that list.
Sometimes you can send every day, sometimes only once a week – it
depends on the safelist you have chosen. In return for this free
service, you are of course agreeing to get mails from other members on
the list.. ..and there will usually be a *lot* of it.

I won’t link to any particular such service here because there are
literally thousands of them. Just try a search like this one and take
your pick:

There are also some systems that automate and assist with the
sometimes laborious process of subscribing to dozens of these lists.
One reasonable system that I have used myself is “SafeListBoys”
(www.safelistboys.com ). They have been around for quite a long time
and have a neat Windows application that downloads a maintained
database of safe lists and abstracts the subscription process out to a
unified interface, thus making it very quick to advertise your e-mail
address as ready to receive marketing e-mails.

Please note I am not referring to these e-mails as “spam” because
they are not, by definition, unsolicited correspondence. By joining
any safelist you are specifically requesting a veritable torrent of
such material. They should provide an ideal test for you spam
filters, although I certainly do not condone the notion of subscribing
to a safelist and then automatically discarding all the material you
receive as a result (or course).

I hope this helps – have fun. If this doesn’t answer your question
then please do request a clarification before you rate my answer.
Thank you.

This will be a useful read http://www.philb.com/spamex.htm It is an
account of someone who set out to attract spam in various ways. It
seems that asking to opt out of a maiing list might be your best bet.
