12-6-2002 You can visit the website www.rootsweb.com, click on the MESSAGE BOARDS link, and enter "Philadelphia County" on the FIND A MESSAGE BOARD link, and post your query to request the obits there. A local genealogical researcher in Philadelphia who has access to back issues of the newspaper can do the lookup for free or for very little charge. Can also visit the website www.raogk.com and find a genealogical researcher in Philadelphia county who does free lookups whom you can contact by e-mail. SINCERELY, 4keith-ga |

I checked both webb sites. The roots one seems to have very little action not many postings in 6 months. the other is not free which they say right off the top, in that you give an equal amount of time as such where you live in the USA. I do not live in the USA so that will not work. Is there a list of paid geneologists in the Philadelphia area that perhaps I could choose one do this one job. THank you Celtic-ga |

Hello celtic, I have found you a list of genealogists as requested: http://www.pagenweb.org/genealogist.html I have put this in as a comment, since it does not answer your original question. |

12-7-2002 If you have not already gotten access to the information you seek, please consider contacting the "GENEALOGICAL SOCIETY OF PENNSYLVANIA" in Philadelphia (go to www.yahoo.com and do a search to find their website) and/or call or write the PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER newspaper (website www.philly.com) to inquire where you can find the back issues you are looking for. Many times the local library or genealogical society knows where to find the newspaper on microfilm. SINCERELY, 4keith-ga |
