Dear monreale,

You requested information about Dave Brubeck’s high school.

A little digging uncovered that Brubeck grew up in Ione, California –
and attended Ione High School. Ione High closed years ago and merged
with Jackson High School, which later became Argonaut High School in
the Amador County Unified School District.

Argonaut High School
501 Argonaut Lane
Jackson, CA

Mailing Address:
217 Rex Avenue, Jackson, CA 95642
Telephone: 223-2411

Brubeck should have attended from 1935 through 1939, although I was
not able to confirm this. This makes sense because he is said to have
arrived at the College of the Pacific in Stockton in 1940 (source:
West Coast Jazz, by Ted Gioia).

I hope this response adequately addresses your request. Please let me
know if you are in need of additional information concerning this
query.
Thanks,
ragingacademic
