I recently perchased an eMac running mac osx.2 and I noticed that the Mail program leaves messages on the server even when I delete them from the inbox. I've looked and looked and I can't figure out how to make the program delete messages from the server. How do I set it up so that it deletes the messages from the server either as soon as they are downloaded to my machine or when they are deleted from my inbox? |

Hi Techgoddess, To delete mail as it is downloaded from your server: 1. Open Mail. 2. Go to the menus and select Mail: Preferences. 3. The "Accounts" tab should be selected. Click "Edit" to change settings for your current e-mail account. A menu should pop up. 4. At the top of the new menu, select "Account Options". There should be a checkbox for "Delete Messages on Server After Downloading". Make sure that box is checked, and then click OK. 5. Close the Preferences box, and you are all set! Hope this helps! |

Thanks! I can usually find stuff like that on my own. I guess sometimes it takes two pairs of eyes. |
