Question ID: 120664
Do different age goups affect our learning abilities? How does age
affect the way we learn? What are these factors? I would like datas
and graphs showing how different ages affect learning abilities. Is it
always true that youth learn better than the elders? And I would also
like to know more about traits that affect age group learning
abilities, such as babies, teenagers, adults, and older people. Do
environment and genetics play important role in this? Which has
greater influence? At what age group does each have the greatest
effect? Which age group has the least effect?

Mary --

There are really about 8 questions here. You may wish to consider
breaking them up, as researchers tend to shy away from questions when
they can only answer part of them (due to the risk of disappointing
the customer).

This is also a very complex area. I'm currently reading Sarah Hrdy's
book, "Mother Nature," and in a portion of the book she discusses
research showing that environment, genetics, diet, age and body
chemistry effect learning.

Finally, it's a complex area of socio-biology, one that's fairly new
to research. Your chance of getting a statistical correlation between
age and "memory" might be better than age and "learning." More
research has probably been done there. However, even here a
researcher may ask:
-- do you mean short-term, intermediate, or long-term memory?

Or you can modify this one.
