I'm wondering if any motion pictures were every made of Sergei
Rachmaninov performing his own or other works on the piano? Since he
was also a well-known conductor, maybe one or another of his concerts
might have been filmed as well. There are, of course, countless sound
recordings of his performances but it would be great to find a visual
record of a performance or two.

Dear pgloeckner-ga (and other researchers)
I was unable to find any vidoes of substantial length but others may
be more successful. Amazon & others sites sell a 30 minute video
biography of him but the reviews are mixed and it is unclear whether
there is footage of Rachmaninov playing. Title: Great Russian
Composers: Rachmaninov

Motion pictures of performances or parts of performances must exist.
There was a PBS Great Performances episode titled "The Art of Piano"
that was first broadcast in June 2000 in which some footage of
Rachmaninov was included. The episode is not available on tape,
however. The source for the motion picture excerpts could probably be
located in the credits or by contacting the producers.
