I have a picture of and Indian warrior sitting on a horse which is
brown. The horse is standing on a rise and there are mountains in the
background. The mountains are far away and don't take up much
background space. The Indian is looking straight ahead and has his
right hand shading his eyes. In his left hand is a bow and arrow. He
is naked except for a breech cloth and moccicans on his feet. He has
one red feather in his hair and a small red feather on his left
moccican. He has braided hair and the left braid looks like it is
draped over his left shoulder. His hand that is shading his eyes, the
palm is greyish looking like it was not painted. The background is
mostly sky, light blue at top and dusty looking downward. At the
bottom of the print in small letters is Samuel Schiff Co. N. Y. The
Indian also has three red bands around his neck and something is
strapped to his back, maybe a quiver. The size of the print is 12x9
inches. Could you tell me the name and the artist of the print?

Hello rustyo-ga,

The image I’ve linked to below doesn’t exactly match your description,
but could it possibly be the same artist?

His name is Frederic Remington. He painted in the late 1800’s and
early 1900’s.

Here is some more of his work.

Hi Rustyo,

just wondering what time frame the print might have been done in. Is
this a recent print/recent work of the kind you can buy in home design
centers, or could it be a print of an old painting; any way of
scanning or taking a picture of it and putting it up on the web? I
couldn't find any thing on the web re. Samuel Schiff, but it sounds
familiar. This makes me think it might be an older print.

Hello Googlenut-ga

I guess it is possible but it really doesn't look like
Remington's work to me.

Hello kutsavi-ga,

It looks like it is a print of an older painting to me. It was
bought from an antique dealer by my niece and given to me. I don't
know if I could get it scanned and put on the wed or not. Will check
into it.
