I AM LOOKING FOR A KODAK INFARED PASS FILTER PART HUMBER LP830-37.5

Are you sure that this is the part number? My searches seem to
suggest that these letters and numbers -- not all together, but
separately -- refer to aspects of filters, but not to a part number.

Do you know any other details that would help a researcher locate this
filter?

Hello cris238-ga
From a guess LP is Light Projector, 830 is the series (so LP830) and
37.5mm is the thread, and probably it is a much older model?
So it suggests to me you are looking for the part number for a 37.5mm
Kodak Infrared Pass Filter for the projector LP830, and presumably
somewhere to purchase it, or just the part number?

I couldn't find anything either. For clarification, I assume this to
be something different. Are you looking for a low pass infrared filter
for a 37mm camera? (830 nanometers)

Thanks,

SgtCory

LP830-37.5 -
The filter is a LONG PASS (LP)
That pass light above 830nm (830)
In a 37.5 mm frame (37.5)
This filter fits on the fromt of a Computar
lens part number T10Z0513CS
which can be found at www.cbcamerica.com

What I believe to be a part number may in fact be a description of the part.
I am looking for someplace to buy one.

Hello cris328-ga,

I have found the filter. Let me take you through my research
step-by-step to show you how I found it and where you can purchase it.

The Germany company Schott Glas makes a long pass (a/k/a "longpass")
filter called the RG 830.

"Color filters: Long pass filters"
Schott
http://www.schott.com/optik/english/products/optical_filters/color_filters.html#langpass

Another German manufacturer, B+W, makes a filter #093, which "only
allows infra-red light above 830nm. to pass." (Presumably, that is
why "RG 830" has the number 830 in it.)

"B+W 093 Infrared Scott Glass Filters"
The Filter Connection
http://www.2filter.com/prices/products/bw093.html

The Wratten (a product associated with Kodak) filter 87C likewise
"absorbs visual, transmits IR 830nm".

"Filters: The Wratten system explained" [scroll down to heading
"Miscellaneous"]
"The Photo Zone: Tips & tricks, snippets & tidbits"
[Everything But] The Kitchen Sink
http://www.euronet.nl/users/frankvw/phototips.html#Wratten

And finally, Heliopan filter 5830 (which I've seen elsewhere as "583")
equates to the Wratten 87C.

So there are at least four filters that might fulfill your needs. I'm
not sure whether the Wratten or Heliopan filters come in the size you
want. You can contact The Tiffen Company (the manufacturer of Wratten
filters) or HP Marketing Corp. (the distributor of Heliopan filters),
or one of their dealers, if you want to find out.

However, I do know that B+W (using the Schott RG830 IR glass) does
make a 37mm #093 filter. You can purchase it on at least two web
sites.

"B+W 37mm Black 093 (87C) Infrared Glass Filter"
B&H Photo-Video-Pro Audio

"Infrared Camera Filters" [scroll down to "B+W (Filterfabrik), Germany
-(Biermann + Weber) Schneider Optics - InfraRed 37mm #093 filter"]

If the 37mm filter does not fit your lens well enough, you can obtain
a Heliopan 37.5mm-37mm Step-Down Ring (Lens to Filter), presumably
from Heliopan or one of its dealers, or from B&H on special order.

"Heliopan #350 37.5mm-37mm Step-Down Ring (Lens to Filter)
B&H Photo-Video-Pro Audio
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/product/197663/HESDR37.537/REG/421

To be on the safe side, I recommend that you take this information to
a dealer or other expert in photographic or videographic equipment, in
order to confirm that this is the best solution for you. But it
appears to be a good solution, from the research I have done.
