I would like to know the Military Records of Jack L. Zimmatore, serial

outfit he was in, his rank and any prevelant military records about
him.

His records are unlikely to be available directly on-line. However,
researchers can help you find a source for them if they know:
-- what country's military he served in
-- what time period
-- what service

Cridder –

There is a limited amount of information available on-line but
military records can be obtained writing to:

Military Records Facility
9700 Page Avenue
St. Louis Missouri 63132-5100
Phone: (800) 318-5298

Instructions at the Army Information link site note that you should
minimally include service member's complete name, social security
number and/or serial number, and the requester's return address. You
will need a Standard Form 180 unless you are a relative of a deceased
veteran. Relatives of deceased veterans have a special website that
they can use. In either case there are instructions here:
National Personnel Records Center
"Military Records Request" (undated)
http://www.archives.gov/facilities/mo/st_louis/military_personnel_records/standard_form_180_content.html

The National Archive and Records Administration (NARA) has some
limited records on-line and has a full page of details on military
records:
"Access to Military Service and Pension Records" (Dec. 8, 2002)
http://www.archives.gov/research_room/obtain_copies/veterans_service_records.html

The searchable database at the site is called Archival Research
Catalog (ARC) and includes lists of Army (and Army Air Force) wounded
and honor list:
http://www.archives.gov/research_room/arc/wwii/army_aaf_honor_list/table_of_contents.html

The ARC searchable database doesn't appear to be useable to find most
servicemen. However, if you know where Mr. Zimmatore's home state and
county, casualty lists are available via links for each state and
county.

Access Genealogy's guide to military records also has links to a
number of military records. They have a good collection of links to a
variety of sources:
Access Genealogy
"Military Records – Types" (undated)
http://www.accessgenealogy.com/military

Google search strategy:
genealogy + "military records"

If any part of this is unclear, please request a clarification before
rating this answer.
