I'm not sure the difference between rich and poor is growing,
everywhere or even most places. There are other considerations besides
money, and clearly the rich are bothered by a hoard of people who hope
to profit from the rich. My wife and I are just above the official
poverty level, and we live quite comfortably and contentedly, and we
are spared the nusance of flouting our wealth as we have little. Many
people are poor because they are short on common sense and/or have bad
attitudes/habits   Neil

somehow it seems that at any period in history people are complaining
about how the rich keep getting richer and the poor keep getting
poorer. this cannot possibly be true all the time. i believe this to
be a myth. the differences between rich and poor fluctuate up and
down. sure, they do occassionally go up, and they do tend to go up
when they change continuously. however, quite often big events
("revolutions" - small- and large-scale) happen that cause
discontinuous jumps that push towards more equality between rich and
poor. that's my take on things.

another common "myth" or complaint is: "what are young people coming
to?" older people are always complaining about young people being
ignorant/stupid/reckless/uncreative etc. these young people always
grow up to be quite decent people (who complain nonetheless about how
THEIR young people are now stupid/ignorant/whatever). history repeats
itself.

one more thing: clearly in our times the overall wealth of humanity
increases - so even the poor, though they may grow relatively poorer
than the rich, are in absolute terms becoming richer - i.e. have
better health care, life quality, more household appliances etc. (50
years ago only rich people had cars/tv/fridge)
problem is, the poor are always jealous of the rich... not you and me,
neil ;-)

basically,i want you to summarise on the different IMAGES between the
rich and poor people and list some general differences as well.

I  understand your question, you want an in-depth discussion on the
reality of growing income differences as well as one on the
idea/perception  of those differences. PLs state clearly you accept
the answer being posted here to get any response though.

I believe "Gini coefficient" - a measure of wealth distribution, is
readily available. And yes, many parts of the world the poor are
getting poorer.
