Hello tecboy1138,

Removing Windows 2000 is not really that difficult especially if you
have the installations on different drives and Windows 98 is installed
on your C drive.

The following website (Part 1 Section A) has great instructions on how
to remove Windows 2000 while keeping your Windows 98 installation:
http://www.budja.com/w2k/uninstall_w2k.html

When you are done with the steps, you might want to format the windows
2000 drive (no other choice actually if Windows 2000 is using the NTSF
file system).

Here are some other websites that you might want to consult, but the
one listed above is probably all you will need:
http://asia.cnet.com/itmanager/netadmin/0,39006400,39073942,00.htm
http://web.ukonline.co.uk/cook/uninstall.htm

You should back up all your important data before attempting this.
Even the best can make a mistake, so it's best to be safe! Let me know
if you need any clarifications regarding this answer. Good luck,

Thanks very much for the prompt info on geting rid of Win 2000 but the
first part of my question still isn't answered. How can I get rid of
the dual OS boot option when the computer is turned on. Or will the
computer just know not to give this option becasue Win 2000 is gone?

Thanks very much for your time on this : )

Hey tecboy,

If you follow the instructions the dual boot option will be eliminated
also. The boot.ini file is the one that lets you select the operating
system when you are starting out. You can also open up the file and
just delete the lines that have to do with Windows 2000, or completely
delete the file.

Let me know if you have any further questions!
